Tub-to-shower conversions
Remove the tub, rework the drain and the valve, build a sloped and waterproofed shower pan, and tile the walls. A curb or a low-threshold entry, depending on who uses the bathroom.

Showers and tubs
S & B Construction and Remodeling converts tubs to walk-in showers, builds new tile showers, and replaces bathtubs, with the waterproofing, tile, and plumbing changes done as one job. The Doylestown, Buckingham, Perkasie, Fountainville, and New Hope bathrooms we remodeled all included one.
What We Do
Taking out a tub and building a walk-in shower touches the plumbing, the subfloor, the waterproofing, the tile, and the glass. S & B Construction and Remodeling handles all of it, so you are not scheduling a plumber, a tile setter, and a glass company yourself. One Google review mentions that Brian convinced the homeowner to make the shower larger. That is the kind of layout call we make with you before the tile is ordered. These are smaller jobs than a full bathroom remodel, and we quote them that way.

Remove the tub, rework the drain and the valve, build a sloped and waterproofed shower pan, and tile the walls. A curb or a low-threshold entry, depending on who uses the bathroom.

Tile showers with a niche, a bench, or built-in storage, glass panels or a door, and fixtures placed for the people using it. The Buckingham shower has a tile niche and storage built into the wall.

Swap a worn tub for a new soaking tub or a tub-and-shower combination, with the surround and the plumbing updated at the same time. The Perkasie and Fountainville bathrooms both include a soaking tub.

The part you never see decides how long the shower lasts: the pan, the membrane behind the tile, and the slope to the drain.

FAQ
If the drain moves or the plumbing changes, most townships want a plumbing permit and an inspection. We handle it as part of the job.
A curbless shower is easier to step into now and as you get older, but the floor has to be built to slope toward the drain. We tell you during the walkthrough whether the framing allows it.
Not always. If the vanity, the floor, and the toilet are staying, the shower can be its own project. If the floor comes up or the layout changes, it becomes a bathroom remodel.
