Basement remodeling
S & B Construction and Remodeling turns unfinished and half-finished basements into lower-level living space: framing, drywall, flooring on concrete, trim, and lighting, planned around moisture, ceiling height, and how the family will use the room.
What We Do
A basement is usually the least expensive way to add a room, because the structure already exists, and the easiest room to get wrong because of water. S & B Construction and Remodeling starts with the slab and the walls: where water has come in, where it could, and what the ceiling height and the mechanicals allow. Then we frame, insulate, coordinate the electrical, hang and finish the drywall, and install flooring made for concrete. In July we put a hardwood floor over concrete in a Lanark basement.

Framing, insulation, drywall, ceilings, and trim to turn an open basement into a family room, an office, or guest space.

Floors that hold up on a slab: hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, or tile, with the underlayment the slab needs.

Recessed lighting, outlets where the furniture will go, and a ceiling that keeps access to the plumbing and shutoffs above it.

Walkout basements that open to a deck or patio, and stairs that make the lower level feel like part of the house.
S & B Construction and Remodeling plans around what the homeowner needs, the real condition of the house, and the finish details that decide how the room looks when the work is done.

FAQ
Yes. We look at the slab, the walls, and any past staining before framing starts. If there is active water, that gets fixed first, because finishes over a wet basement do not last.
Framing, electrical, and any new bathroom usually do in Bucks and Montgomery County townships. We plan the permit and the inspections into the schedule.
Engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, and tile all work with the right underlayment. We talk through moisture and the underlayment before you choose.
