Sunroom addition with floor-to-ceiling windows and a deck view

Home additions in Doylestown, PA, and surrounding areas

S & B Construction and Remodeling builds home additions for Bucks County homeowners: sunrooms, family rooms, primary suites, bathrooms, and second floors, matched to the rest of the house inside and out.

What We Do

Additions we build

S & B Construction and Remodeling builds sunrooms, family rooms, primary suites, added bathrooms, kitchen bump-outs, and second-floor additions across Bucks and Montgomery County. We match the roof line, the siding, and the trim to the existing house and finish the inside so the new room looks like it was always there. As the general contractor, we handle the permits, the framing, and the trades on the addition. The per-square-foot number and what moves it are in what a home addition costs in Bucks County.

Sunroom addition with glass walls and a dining area

Sunroom Builders

A sunroom is mostly glass on a framed, insulated base, with the roof tied into the house. Three-season rooms skip the heat; four-season rooms get insulation, heat and air, and windows rated for winter. The Telford sunroom was built off the back of the house, facing the pool.

Double vanity after a bathroom remodel in Fountainville

Bathroom Addition

A bathroom addition is a small footprint with a lot of plumbing: supply, drain, and vent lines to the new room, a fan ducted outside, and a permit and inspection for the plumbing and electrical.

Kitchen remodel with island in Doylestown

Kitchen Addition

A kitchen addition pushes the exterior wall out for an island, a pantry, or a breakfast area. Cabinets, countertops, and tile are priced on top of the per-square-foot number.

Family Room Addition

A family room addition is usually a plain, well-insulated room on a slab or a crawlspace, with the roof tied into the house and the siding matched. It is the simplest addition to build and the closest to the $200 per square foot base.

Primary Bedroom Addition

A primary bedroom addition usually comes with a bathroom and a closet, so it carries plumbing and more electrical than a plain room. We frame the bedroom, the bath, and the closet together as one suite.

Garage Builders

An attached garage needs footings, a slab, framing, a roof tied into the house, and an electrical run for the door and the lights. Where the garage meets the house, the wall and the door are built to the fire code.

Finish detail work in progress

Second Floor Additions

A second-floor addition takes off the roof, adds a stair, and carries the new load down through the house, so it costs more per square foot than building out. It is the answer when the lot has no room to expand.

Wood framing of a room addition under construction

Bump Out Additions

A bump-out adds a few feet to a room, on a small footing or cantilevered off the existing floor framing, without a full foundation. Common uses: a bigger kitchen, a bathroom that fits a double vanity, or a sitting area off the bedroom.

We hired S&B to upgrade a hall bathroom. Bryan was prompt and thorough with communication, gave very clear pricing, arrived on time, and hit his timing perfect.

Had my bathroom shower remodeled. Brian had great suggestions and convinced me to make the shower space larger. I am extremely happy with what he has done.

Brian did a punch list of repairs at my house. If Brian does a project, he's going to do it right and he is very detail-oriented with everything he does.

How a project runs

From the first call to the final walkthrough

01.First call

A short call about the project: the room or the yard, the house, when you want it done, and what is not working now.

Brian comes out, measures, looks at what is behind the walls or under the old deck where he can, and separates the must-haves from the nice-to-haves.

You get the scope and the price in writing: materials, access, the order of the work, and the schedule.

You pick the materials. We pull the permit when the job needs one, book the trades, and give you a working schedule before demolition.

Structure first, then the finish work. Inside the house, we keep a path through it while we are there.

We walk the finished work with you and fix anything on the list before we call it done.

FAQ

Before you schedule the estimate

Can an addition match the existing home?

That is the goal. The planning stage should cover roof lines, siding, trim, windows, flooring transitions, and how you get from the old rooms into the new one.

Is a home addition always better than remodeling existing space?

No. Sometimes reworking the existing layout solves the problem. We can look at both at the walkthrough before you decide.
